Birthday dinner at Cafe California

When a restaurant is good, customers return. When a restaurant is great, customers return again and again. My " DMG " celebrated his birthday last Saturday and dinner was at Cafe California. What an excuse not to observe my diet. DMG's choice :

Bruschetta Mediterranean Diced fresh plum tomatoes seasoned with extra virgin olive oil, garlic and basil, topped with Parmigiano Reggiano and served on crusty baguette

and Filet Mignon Medallions With twin sauces of truffle Port reduction and tarragon cream served with garlic mashed potatoes and with his favourite drink - Pina Colada .

and for me :

Spanish Paella The traditional dish featuring a delicate blend of chicken, chorizo sausage, shrimp, mussels and calamari with saffron rice and DMG's suggested that I should try his 2nd favourite drink " Harvey Wallbanger "...
