Aidilfitri is just around the corner!

Yay Raya is here… technically its only around the corner so yea its ‘here’.The month of Ramadhan is almost at its end; and Syawal is comin’. Any plans?

Where would you be this Raya Aidilfitri for this year? Would you be at home preparing your ketupat or lemang or dodol or whatever for open house? Or would you be at your kampung there celebrating with all your cousins, aunts and uncles and grand parents?

Ahh..Raya…a time to visit people that you may or may not know…time for ‘duit raya’… time to remember those who have passed on by paying respects and baca Yasin… A mixture of both happiness, bliss and sorrow sometimes…depending from where you are as you celebrate Aidilfitri.

To my parents, sisters and relatives near and far..To all my beloved friends here and everywhere..To all my fellow colleagues and ex-colleagues..and lastly to all my Muslim brothers and sisters around the world..
I seek forgiveness for any of my wrong doings..Any mistakes that I’ve done whether I’m aware of it or if it happened unintentionally..“Halalkan” all the food and drinks..
Till we meet again next year..

So friends everywhere, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. May we all find our own happiness and comfort within our family and friends.

Compatibility

They say opposites attract. But is this true in relationships? Can two people with two different life roads and who are driven by very different things come into a partnership? That is the question I am pondering. My boyfriend and I had a talk about our relationship. It seems that some things are not working. True…no relationship is perfect. I seem to be going there and he seems to be going the different direction. Neither of us wants to break up but we have both realised that our relationship is not progressing and going where we want it to go.So I wonder if love can make two people compatible? Or is it all about compromise? I likes to stay in..He like to go out. I likes stability and he like chaos. He has grown up and matured and I am still a kid at heart. I'm a planner and he is spontaneous. He’s happy and I am neurotic. My friend thinks I think too much Maybe he’s right Maybe I should just enjoy things and not think so much about it. I do tend to analyse things way too much.

fall it is

For some reason I woke up quite early this morning. And as usual I turned on my computer first before I made my first trip to the bathroom. After the computer, I turned on the TV next to check on the weather. That’s how I started my day normally.

This is my second autumn or fall here in Toronto so I know what to expect now. I know that the nights will be longer now. I know that 8 pm is already dark. I know that we will have cooler or lower temperatures. I know that the maple leaves will start to change its color and will soon fall from the trees. I know that I will be raking a lot now and that will replace cycling as my exercise. I know too that I need to cover up now and my sexy clothes are no longer appropriate to wear.

This is my second fall and I know exactly what to do. I have to organize my closet again to make room for our fall and winter clothes. I have to sort out my summer clothes… keep those that still fit and throw or give away those that don’t.

As the leaves change its color from green to monochromatic red-orange-and-brown hue so as the breeze will start to feel chilly despite the warmth of the sun that will constantly shine through. This is the time for harvest. This is the time for thanksgiving. This is the time for new hope.

This is my second fall season and I know it will not be the same as the first. And just like every changing seasons my life is constantly changing too. Maybe this fall, things will turn as colorful as the maple leaves. And as they fall on the ground I hope my life will also find the beauty of being free and well-grounded, literally and figuratively.

And the Emmy goes to….

So the Emmys are tonight.

Does anyone actually care?

I only found out about it by fluke. I don’t know anyone who watches these things. There’s just too many award shows nowadays for any one of them to mean anything.More people watch the pre-show red carpet show than the awards show, just to see what everyone is wearing.

My Guy ...

Wow @ 1st Sight - Kylie Minogue

Wait for the guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will stay awake just to watch you sleep. Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweat, who holds your hand in front of his friends. Wait for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you. Wait for the one who turns to his friends and says, "... that's him." By J Campbell

2 1/2 years for me and my "DMG" and it's still just as fun, warm, loving, and exciting as when we began. Getting to know one another first is key!

Bazaar Ramadhan

Comes Ramadhan Malaysians are spoilt for choice when it comes to food no matter they are muslim or non-muslim. In the holy month of Ramadhan there are plenty of temporary stalls selling food at the place gazetted by the local council for the whole month of Ramadhan. Malaysians will flock the market normally after coming back from work and it spares them the hassle of cooking their meal for breaking of fast especially for both working parents.

One of the very popular Ramadhan Bazaars in Klang Valley area is Jalan Raja Alang , Kampong Baru Ramadhan Bazaar ... what I miss most about fasting abroad, I miss all the traditional kuih muih (pulut panggang, popia basah, nasi dagang, karipap pusing & etc) that only can be found during fasting month !!!!

Thank you to TV3 as they have a show by Shamsul @ Bazaar Ramadhan. Just see for youself how colourful and busy the market is.

PS : Terubat gak windu I tengok kemeriahan Bazaar Ramadhan back home !!!!

My New House ...

Sorry I haven’t updated this in a while, but whenever I think about writing I don’t have the time, and whenever I have the time, I’m not thinking about writing. Wow - I just realized, I haven’t even blogged about moving. In case you don’t know, I moved to a wonderful new house in Richmond Hill last week. I love the house, but I’m not so enthusiastic about the boxes I have to unpack.

Overall, I am really happy with the house. To be perfectly honest, this is the first “nice” house that we have ever lived in so its kind of cool like that. I feel like this new house is part of a new chapter in my life.
