Gardening…and more gardening

I’ve been kind of half assing it in the garden lately. I woke up bright and early this morning and it was sunny. I took this as a sign it was time to plant some flowers.

First stop – (http://www.terragreenhouse.com/) in Vaughn. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I get my flowers here every year.

My goal for today was to get the flowers planted. Boy it was hot out there today. It took me about 4 hours total to get it all done. I met a few new people – seems like the garden club is expanding!

Pottery is a contemplative “sport,” and you end up musing a lot while you’re working. I find nothing more therapeutic these days than painting pottery at one of those paint it yourself places. Granted it does get costly. I have spent $35 on a platter, $25 on a sushi plate, $25 on my round plate, $23 on a bowl and $18 on a coffee mug. I use them all and I love them.. I paint them free hand without stencils or tracing, it takes longer but that is part of the processs for me. I find this 100 times more effective than therapy and useful as a meditation tool. Here are a few of my pieces so far: a Spring Bird Serving Platter (yet to complete), a Polka Dot Black Sushi Plate, a Globe with Kids Cereal Bowl, a Spring Flower Round Plate and a Bird Coffee Mug.

Delicious cupcakes ...

I just had to share some pictures of my creations because I worked so hard and they were gobbled down in an instant! Yesterday I had a day off and decided to bake cupcakes. I spent a long time baking and decorating and arranging them so I who’s also a talented photographer to snap some shots of my tasty creations. I had a ton of fun making them and I had a ton of fun sharing them :)

Hail, Victoria ...

Happy Victoria Day! We are celebrating Queen Victoria’s birthday today as well as the beginning of the Summer social calendar.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the long weekend with family and friends and for those who ventured away for the weekend I hope your travels were safe. We stayed at home this weekend as the weather is kinda bad ,this year is rainy and temperatures are fluctuating over the weekend. It’s officially cottage season! A very popular long weekend here celebrated with parties and fireworks!

Trekkie ...

This was one of the most exciting, edge of your seat, action packed, awesome special effects, movie I have seen in a very long time. The characters were matched up perfectly, the personalities were right on. I am looking forward to more sequels in the search for the new worlds. If you’re not a Trekkie fan you will LOVE this movie, if you are a Trekkie this movie will be glad you are! Way to go crew you did Trekkie’s proud!

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Hugh Jackman is amazing (hot) Wolverine's my favorite X-men so I got what I wanted, which was a good dose of him! Incredible special effects. I never looked away once, and was always 100% entertained. Loved it!
